Tafod Lake

Surrounded by mountains, and fed by swift, cold waters, Tafod Lake is one of the most beautiful bodies of water in Gylidd. Where Gen Creek and the Tafod River enter the lake, the water is swift with rapids. The lake is typically the final destination of all large boats headed upstream from the Inland Sea, however smaller boats may traverse to upper Tafod and Gen Creek if they can carefully navigate the rapids. When there is no wind, the lake is clear and nearly placid. In certain places overlooking the lake, one can peer through the clear waters nearly all the way to the bottom - which is quite deep - on sunny days. The lake is often teeming with freshwater fish, and it is rumored that the darkest depths of Tafod hide a giant reptile that feeds upon the unwary. The lake is a very popular destination for fishers, vacationers, and dangerous wildlife. It is recommended that one travels in groups, and come prepared for the wildlife and the amazing respite.
