The Doom Chime

Advocate Amrith Hogaine, Chair of the Civic Synod of Gylidd Syn Aethri, has had horrible dreams of late. The peace of the city he’s watched over for hundreds of years has been as constant as his own stewardship, until now. Now he sees a shadow looming in the east, a creeping malevolence growing in power whose presence can be felt everywhere - even within the Heartswood.     The implications of such magic overpowering the sacred forest are dire indeed. However, none of the other Ministers of Gylidd have shared these omens, leaving Hogaine with only one recourse to ensure anxiety and fear do not spread from his nightmares.   Using a network of subtle contacts, Hogaine has tapped the leader of the Gylidd Wrenjers - a legendary Hunter named Kobeck Huaru - to quietly petition the adventurers in the city with a quest. These intrepid souls would be sent to the eastern forests of Gylidd Island to uncover the truth of this darkness or dispel it, while Hogaine looks on and hopes against his instincts that his fears are unfounded.

What later became known as the Doom Chime was a group of Wrenjers who were tasked with carrying on the investigation that was started by a medley assortment of both Wrenjers and adventurers who had initially answered the call and set off on the 1st of Zhira, 3518 AI / 0 AE. After the 28th of Zhira, the group was composed entirely of Wrenjers. Like many Chimes (groups of Wrenjers) who are gathered for a particular joint task or operate out of the same area, the Doom Chime was eventually named after one of the Master’s outposts where it first became obvious how deeply entrenched and established the power of the cult was. The name entered into official records around the 21st of Souma of that same year.   The Doom Chime is notable not only for their part, in tandem with the Damned Chime, in stopping the Master’s corruption and attacks on the Heart of the Ley, but also for having all four of the new Second Wrenjers (second-in-command for a respective Wrenjer branch) chosen from it.   The composition of the Doom Chime (both before and after its eventual naming) varied at times, but from the latter half of their year-long quest until the end of their formed goal, it had settled into a consistent seven Wrens:
Ansible Le Guin (Noble Second Eldcrown)
Artem Abraxas (Noble Second Spear)
Halxion Evanolan (Noble Second Stave)
Jarvis Stone (Noble Stave)
Leofric of the Menders (Noble Second Cup)
Te’Ley’aUurah "Te'Leyuura" A’shinazon (Noble Spear)
Zetwuzadi Mhoghra (Noble Spear)

* Shown with their rank and branch as they were at the end of their quest.
Two Celestials who had fought alongside the Doom Chime for months and took part in the final fight with the Master; Elem-tim-tim, a winged serpent from Calelis’ domain called by Leofric, and Jacolasie, an angel of battle from Parasca’s domain who had previously been brought to the plane by the General of the original Biddengolan. They were also accompanied by Hyrakin, a worg descendant of the lost Erromoduja Xhogumal clan, which had been shackled into the machinations of the Master’s cult, who both carried Zetwuzadi into battle and was a powerful contributor in her own right.
