Smaller regions present within Joorduunim Major are subject to rulership by an appointed Jarl. Usually the Jarl in question is appointed democratically, and thusly has the support of his or her people. Apart from the Jarl roles can differ greatly from settlement to settlement depending on the occupants that shaped it. As the surrounding landscape is often dangerous, communication, and order are lost as one moves further beyond civilized walls.
