Dai Shin'en was not born into the Shin'en Clan but was rather adopted into it. As a baby, she was left orphaned never knowing who her parents were or even how old she was. She moved from orphanage to orphanage, before joining a traveling theatre that performed for nobles. During one of her performances as a child, she caught the eye of Eto Shin'en seeing an elf child performing in a traveling theatre. Learning of her childhood, he chose to adopt her into his clan. As a member of the clan, she was shown compassion and care that she never before knew from Jiang. Believing that the clan would throw her out if she did not meet their expectations, she cultivated hard and trained extensively into the blade. Upon her adopted father's passing, she inherited his blade 'Burden'. During her time in the Shin'en Clan, she would meet an orphan in the military named Ikaru. They would become close like sisters before her father made them actual sisters by also adopting Ikaru. Dai would go on to adopt a kid of her own named Su that reminded her of her grandmother, Su Shin'en. She would also marry someone named Cai and have two children with him. She passed away in 384 RB at an unknown age that many speculate to be about 600 years old. She was at the middle of the Nascent Soul stage.
