Apara
<App-arr-ahh>
The Palest
Apara, also known as The Palest, is associated with death, undead, ghosts, and is known as an enemy to the psychopomps. He is considered to be a dangerous, malevolent spirit with little interest in being appeased by mortals.
Most stories about Apara have to do with the creation of ghosts or undead, and his battles with psychopomps.
Holy Books & Codes
Apara's holy books were penned by The Pale, and vary depending on region. Most give methods for creating undead, research in creating phylacteries, and the nature of the afterlife.
Often these holy books contain quotes by Apara, which are sourced from those who spoke to him and were convinced by his words. They speak of the potential for all creatures to continue life after death and create utopias, and of the danger of feeding the Void an ever growing number of souls.
Divine Symbols & Sigils
Apara's holy symbol is a green flame, reminiscent of his appearance. Worshippers often wear shades of green, and simple alchemical reagents are used to turn mundane flames green for a time.
Divine Goals & Aspirations
Apara is a creature of undeath and seems to crave the creation of undead above all else. Some of his followers seek eternal life through the binding of their own souls to objects, while others force this upon others. A common belief is that the afterlife is a dangerous entity, and undeath is the only way to avoid feeding it the souls of the living.
Psychopomps count Apara as one of the greatest threats to life, as he goes against what they believe to be the natural order - guiding souls to the afterlife. By binding souls to the material plane, The Palest prevents them from moving on.
