Vurais is an incredibly old and powerful lich who serves as the herald of Apara, The Palest. She is the defacto leader of The Pale, Apara's cult.
Though it was not always so, Vurais long ago became powerful enough to be considered a god in her own right. The methods by which she ascended are secrets known only to her.
Divine Domains
Vurais is associated with death, undead, knowledge, and liches. She is primarily worshipped by those seeking the secrets of attaining immortality through undeath, and by those seeking to be recruited into The Pale. Rather than outright worship, most liches pay respect or homage to her as if she were a highly respected peer.
Vurais' Exhuma
While it is unknown exactly what methods Vurais achieved her godhood, but many assume it has to do with how she stored her soul to achieve lichdom. Rumors state that rather than store her soul across magical objects, Vurais did the impossible and created an exhuma that was the very knowledge of its existence and how it could be destroyed. It is said that Vurais' minions have traveled the world, telling arcane researchers, heroes, and people of importance that her exhuma could only be destroyed if there was no one left in the world that knew what it was. It remains a point of contention among scholars whether this is truly possible, or simply a clever distraction from finding what truly stores her soul. If such a task were possible, it generally agreed that it would be effectively impossible to ever destroy her permanently. Nonetheless, there are several dedicated groups who attempt to quash the discussion of her exhuma, even going as far as stealing memories so that none can remember it.Physical Description

Vurais appears as a humanoid skeleton standing at roughly 7' tall. Her spine and neck are longer than the average human.
She is most commonly depicted wearing an ornate hooded cape and jewelry affixed to her bones.
