Codex of Bond

Mechanics & Inner Workings

The Codex of Bond is a well bound leather tome with parchment pages that bear the marks of hundreds of years of reading. The true length of the book's contents is unknown, as it has a table of contents several hundred pages long which never seems to be quite the same as the last time it was read.

Significance

The Codex of Bond is one of eight holy texts of the Church of Aldt, and is said to have been written by the ancient deity Aldt themselves.   Its contents are a long description of what ties living beings together. Its passages meander across a plethora of topics ranging from pack animals, parasites and symbiosis, to the vast forests shared roots. It speaks of families and guilds as if it were a theoretical thing to be examined in the future. It speaks as adoringly about love as it does rivalry.   Its opposite is the Codex of Singularity.   It is currently owned by the Church of Aldt in Iccot.
