Dogfolk

"Don't try to pet a dogfolk - their bite hurts much more than their bark."
— Tavern proverb

Basic Information

Anatomy

Dogfolk resemble humanoids with canine features, both wild wolf as well as - bizarrely - domesticated canines. They have fur covering their bodies, an elongated muzzle on their face, and tails. They are one of the most physically diverse of the Feyfolk subspecies.   There has been some study on how dogfolk came to resemble breeds of dogs that have only existed for a hundred years or so, and the general consensus is that some fey power may control the Feyfolk to some degree, and actively introduces such races.

Genetics and Reproduction

As with all feyfolk, dogfolk and produce children with any other feyfolk. The resulting child could resemble its parents, or an entirely different sort of feyfolk subspecies.

Growth Rate & Stages

Dogfolk live somewhat shorter lives than other humanoids, with their average life expectancy being around 50. They reach their adolescence quickly, and maintain their youthful energy a bit longer than most other species, though.

Additional Information

Perception and Sensory Capabilities

Dogfolk have a keen sense of smell and hearing. By their own admission, their eyesight is not terribly good, but not enough to be a hindrance - most have some fashion of color blindness.

Civilization and Culture

Naming Traditions

Most feyfolk take elven names similar to the ones they may take in the Great Forest, while others mimic the names in whatever culture they find themselves in.
