Leviathan

Leviathans are very large sea creatures nearly 60 meters long, nearly twice the length of a great blue whale. It is quite rare to see them on the surface, as they tend to spend most of their time in the deepest trenches of the sea.   Leviathans are one of the largest creatures that are not deemed true gods‌, though they are powerful enough to be worshipped as such by those who travel the sea. They do not seem to notice this, and it is believed they are not terribly intelligent. Despite this, their massive size and strength is enough to inspire fear in even Krakens.   Leviathans occasionally attack humanoid sea vessels, impaling them with their large horn. Such damage tends to quickly sink the boat - and the leviathan leaves soon after it realizes the wood does not make for good food. In order to prevent this, worshippers of Ilvesha instead focus on keeping whales and krakens as far from shipping lanes and humanoid settlements as possible, without outright killing them.

Basic Information

Anatomy

Leviathans have a somewhat draconic appearance, with large wings and two clawed arms. Most notable is the very large horn they have at the tip of their head - scholars presume that it is used to impale their prey, such as whales and krakens. They tend to be around 60 meters long from tip of horn to tip of tail, though few have had a chance to concretely measure a live leviathan.
