Leydford Castle

Purpose / Function

Leydford Castle acts as the seat of power for the ruling family of Bocrae. It has been passed between ruling families since its original construction as a military hold for a local warlord.

Architecture

Leydford castle is less ostentatious than most castles designed for ruling families, and instead takes a more militaristic approach to architecture. Windows are thin and high up, stairwells are designed to inhibit attackers, and it lacks the dramatic vaulted ceilings of many castles.   Tapestries, portraits, and suits of armor fill the already somewhat cramped building.
