Seyrin

Goddess of Spies

Seyrin is a god associated with spies, knowledge, and lust. She is a relatively new god to the world, with her first mention in historical books dating 3785 EC. Most modern pantheons do not include Seyrin in them - those that do generally paint her as either a trickster, or a capricious demon.   Seyrin's demesne is called the Grand Hollow, and is said to be a place of incredible beauty and inspiration. There, the people of the city gather information for her - whether they know it or not.

Holy Books & Codes

Seyrin has two holy books, which are forbidden from being written down. The first is memorized, and shared orally between only Seyrin's devout. It contains advice on social manipulation, espionage, seduction, and other advice relevant to spies and rogues. Additionally, there are a variety of parables that are often used to develop fake backstories and cover identities.   The second book contains similar information to the last, but is flawed. It is used as a decoy if one of Seyrin's devout is captured and forced to divulge what they know.

Divine Symbols & Sigils

Seyrin's divine symbol is faintly twinkling lights, like the stars viewed through the tree canopy in a gentle breeze. Her followers go to great efforts to replicate this in temples built to honor her, using light reflected in complex patterns to light their rooms.   When light itself cannot be used, most of her worshippers simply use the sigil of an unknown constellation in its place.

Tenets of Faith

Followers of Seyrin are not preventing from opposing, spying on, or otherwise antagonizing each other. In fact, it is a fairly common occurrence due to the widespread acceptance of mercenary and contract work. One of the few exceptions is that any follower who discovers they are opposing a direct goal of Seyrin is expected to abandon their own goals, and keep this revelation secret.   With thorough mentions in her holy book's passages on seduction, Seyrin's opinions are clear: sex should be for fun or profit. It is said that Seyrin maintains positive relations with many other gods of romance and lust, and her followers are urged to maintain the same whenever possible. It is said that Seyrin is particularly close with Curae.

Holidays

Seyrin has several holidays, which primarily revolve around her more lustful and revelrous aspects. Attending parties, socializing, and meeting new people during these holidays is highly encouraged. For some, these are more formal affairs, while others revel in lust by hosting multi-day orgies. The most important of her holidays is the Lilac Festival.
