Sordurland
The Sord Alliance, more commonly known as Sordurland, is a federation of small nations in the Southern Corridor. It stems from an old alliance, and though its membership and borders have changed over the years, most of the eight queendoms that make it up have been members for many generations.
Structure
The member states of Sordurland enjoy great internal freedom in managing their kingdoms, provided they contribute to the defense of the alliance and its interests. Foreign trade is taxed to pay for the federation's standing army, navy, and some infrastructure.
The leader of the federation is the Minister of Sord, and makes decisions relating to international and federation level concerns. Every five years, the role is given to the next queendom in line, who chooses the Minister however they see fit - however, the ruler of a queendom cannot act as Minister herself.
Though not specified as a requirement, each of the states of Sordurland is an absolute monarchy lead by a queen. For most, the title is passed down to the oldest daughter of the ruling queen.
