Veczi
Veczi is a large, but sparsely populated nation in the taigas of Northern Aisoa.
Dueling is common in Veczi, and the nation is well known for its dueling techniques and sword fighting styles. With so few people living in the nation, wars and noble in fighting can take a massive toll on the nation as a whole. As a result, a culture of dueling slowly gained popularity as a method of settling disputes. Nobles often pick champions to fight on their behalf in duels. Most are to the blood or surrender, though more serious disputes may be to the death.
Veczi also has a strong history of music, especially in regards to stringed instruments. Thanks to the native lumber having excellent acoustic properties, many famed musical woodworkers learn their craft in Veczi.
Structure
Veczi is a feudal monarchy currently led by Queen Masha Vitek , though in recent years the throne has become more of a figurehead than a meaningful controlling force over the country. Nobles pledge their allegiance to the crown, but largely manage their own territories and the governing of them.
Infighting among the nobility is fairly common, but mostly handled without mass combat or larger scale conflicts. The day to day lives of common folk change fairly little based off of the whims of nobles, and the country has remained fairly stable for a long period.
Military
Veczi's military is quite small, and generally unfit for large scale combat and offensive wars. The terrain across Veczi, however, is quite rough and generally difficult to navigate - which allows most Veczi troops to focus themselves in key strongholds and choke points. The nation as a whole is considered too much effort compared to the value one would gain to invade it.
Veczi bridges are also designed to be destroyed and rebuilt in the event of invasion. Their foundations are sturdy and fit to be reused while the main thoroughfare is often make of cheaper materials that are easy to tear apart.
