Archmage
The Archmage is a title given to a powerful arcane magic user who has signed up with the Arcanic Order. There are many reasons why someone would do that, such as increased access to the Libraries of the Custodis Pansophical and resources to help with their experiments and studies in the form of money or anything else necessary. Additionally, access to the assets of other Archmages is encourages, as the sharing of knowledge helps everyone. The connections gained by interacting with other Archmages and meeting for gatherings of the Arcanic Order can also not be overstated. Lastly, Archmages are encouraged to publicize their findings to the rest of the Order and the Archmagus Supreme. They also need to ask permission from the Archmagus in order to study topics that might be seen as taboo such as Necromancy. Mostly the answer is negative because the Order cannot afford the loss of political and diplomatic capital which would come from an accident occurring or anything else that might harm the public perception of them.
Requirements
Anyone can become an Archmage as long as they have notable arcane abilities and the power to manipulate the Magical Weave.
Appointment
The appointment of an Archmage is generally done at a meeting of the Arcanic Order in the area, where local Archmages are asked to attend. There the new Archmage can meet their peers and talk about their research and goals, in an attempt to gain resources for themselves.
