The Diamond
Look at the mess they have made. Traveller, I don't generally give advice but, avoid The Diamond at all costs. Peridot and their endless ignorance can only end in disaster. The Diamond is a barony in Kaechaek that was created by Peridot and acts as a major centre for Peridot's trade, research and factions. Especially The Magus Arcanum in Kaechaek who use the barony as a base of operations. To an outsider, the city seems like a thing of beauty with it's sky rails inspired by Vallea, smaller skyships for deliveries and moving heavy loads and it's diverse citizenry. However, much of Kaechaek see the barony as a threat with it's large size, geographic location and it's emphasis on Peridot's laws and currency. The district is regularly ruled by members of The Hands of the Jewelled who take turns checking in on the barony and ensuring it is running smoothly. The barony currently, despite it's appearance, is suffering deeply due to their banning and execution of The Venator and it's experiments with realisation. This has resulted in dreams and nightmares running wild in the dark corners of the barony.
Government
The city is run by a system of delegates and councillors who regularly prepare the city for inspections and ensure it is running as smoothly as possible to outsiders eyes.
Defences
The Diamond is a high walled city that makes use of Runic Cannons dotting the walls to repel threats and making use of mercenaries and their own personal military, The Jewelled, to protect the city from internal and external threats.
Infrastructure
The Diamond is one of the most modern cities in all of Namarie with a running water system, regular factions from Peridot passing through and a variety of interesting manners in which they harvest the land of Kaechaek.
Geography
The barony is set next to The Resting Oasis for it's source of water and depths that make running the city, and experimenting with Realisation, sustainable ventures.
