Alverton
Overlooked by one of the primary temples to the goddess Eohr, Alverton is a small hamlet located on the temperate plains of the central Silver Vale. Built at a three way intersection where the road between Volsinii and the Crownlands meets the road running south from Westereach, Alverton has long served as a stopover for those travelling through the nation. Because of this, trade in the small town is highly monitored and taxed by all three of House Kintan, the crown of Sevaria, and the local merchants' guild, the Alverton Sellers and Buyers. Despite this and although relatively poor compared to other parts of Sevaria, the people of Alverton are well tended to and have most of their needs met by the priesthood of Eohr at the nearby temple.
One of the few exotic luxuries available in Alverton is a drink from the Island Nations Confederation known as coffee; a favourite drink of the high priestess Elandra, funds are spent by the church and the Sellers and Buyers to ensure suitable quantities are brought into the town.
The Alverton Pillar
A few kilometers outside of town, on the land of the old farmer, Valentyna Marshal, stands a ten meter tall spike of worked stone that juts up from the middle of her fields. Although the pillar has been studied by many, including scholars from the priesthood of Eohr, none can quite determine its purpose or origin. The only discovery made thus far in its study is that old Valentyna's land was once a lake, now long dried up, and the pillar stands in what was what the exact center. While many have encouraged Valentyna to dig below the surface and see how far down it goes, the irascible human says she has no interest in digging up the past in that way. Her eldest son, a member of the clergy of Uldis named Liconus Marshal, however, plans to bring in teams to fully excavate the structure once the land passes to him.Demographics
Alverton's population is human by majority, with sizeable populations of dwarves, halflings, and half-elves. There are also notable populations of elves and gnomes with a representative cluster of half-orcs.

Government
While the nominal head of the town is the reeve, Laendus Briggs, most of the day-to-day business of the town is handled by a few powerful individuals who head the Alverton Sellers and Buyers. While they work in the name of the priesthood of Eohr and provide a tithe to them, the Sellers and Buyers mostly act for their own self interest over that of the village as a whole.
