Galeroth

General Description

Galreoth is an active volcano although eruptions tend to be mild and infrequent. It is a relatively small mountain at only just over 500ft in height and there are no easily navigatable paths to the summit from the ground below.

History

All major eruptions have been detailed since 1733 with there being 9 serious incidents, the most recent in the year 3841 when an eruption sent large rock fragments and ash clouds to the south, wiping out many small villages.   Several outposts have been constructed on the summit over the years but none remain intact and all have suffered heavy structural damage during past eruptions.

Culture

The Dark Tide use the volcano as a membership test they call The Searing Climb. They even use it for the process of electing new tide captains within the organization. The fire god Vuurgaan has been heavily worshipped in the area for centuries with many rituals and sacrifices taking place each year.

Unique Fauna

Galeroth is the only place where the Basalt Bees are found. They use the native basalt rocks to make their honey and can survive incredibly warm temperatures.
