The Arrion Sea

This great expanse of water is thought to make up somewhere between 70% to 80% of Naru's surface. It goes by many names in different cultures, the given name in common (Arrion) loosely translated from ancient scripture means unending.   There are two known, large landmasses that this sea surrounds, Rayas and the combination of Ethea and Keemu. A handful of islands have been mapped out close by to the mainland but nobody has been successful at accuratley mapping any other land at this point.   Many stories and legends exist that mention faraway lands, from forgotten continents to wonderous oasis-like islands as well as the creatures that roam there. Such locations are referenced in explorers' logs and records but any information or details on how to get to any of the locations are yet to replicate any results. Large sections of water beyond the mainland are well known to be treacherous to travel via ship, over 30 different areas of the hazardous sea have been recorded across Naru with many sailors refusing to sail anywhere near them.   A group of explorers known as The Seekers, organise expeditions to discover and map out these uncharted locations. Such journeys are often perilous and face strong currents, unknown rocky areas and other hazards that have been known to rip weaker ships apart. These voyages need to be well funded and as such are not commonplace, some of the biggest and strongest ships created are used solely for the purpose of exploration.
