Acolytes of the Luminous Anvil
The Acolytes of the Luminous Anvil was a sect of Ferai founded in Currglass in 2345 ET. They differed from more mainstream followers of Ferai, in that they placed a powerful emphasis on the idea of earning everything one gets. Many outsiders felt that over time, this turned into an obsession with their leadership, to the point that they would engage in practices like forced labour if they felt that the temple had done a favour or service for someone/a group, which had not been repaid in equal measure. Many felt that the temple deliberately trapped people by seeming to offer help freely, before insisting, often with force, that the debt be repaid.
This tendency was examplified in the sect's dealings with the clans of northern Achenia Oshor. The acolytes arrived there in 22 FC and offered the temple's help and resources in helping to reunite the warring clans, and offered food and shelter for the struggling populace. At first this help appeared to be offered in purely good faith, and perhaps a little devotion towards Ferai. Later however, they demanded that the still fragile and recovering society repay this debt by giving over control of the newly formed country's few resources to the temple. Later, the acolytes would take total political control, declaring that divine visions experienced by their priests from Ferai, had commanded that Oshor be placed into the divinely guided hands of one of her favoured children, Anneala Sillion, who was coronated in early 38 FC, despite displeasure and a little resistance from the residents of Oshor.
