Lxile (Lex-ile)

The only long-term prison in the whole of the Orionis Cluster

The fifth and final planet that took terraforming in the system, it is also the one that took the least to the process. As such, there is a very low level of gravity on the planet and movement outside of the five domed cities built there must be done with breathing gear. None of the five cities are inhabited by normal citizens as Lxile was named because all of its main occupants are essentially living in exile and the planet itself is a prison planet originally run by the Rehabilitation Division of the Silver Soldiers, the standing army of the Core Senate.
Since The Great Collapse and the slow descent of the Senate's power, governance of Lxile has fallen to private companies and it is currently under the control of Winslett Consolidated Security.

Geography

Given its natural low gravity and need for breathing gear, the base geography is bare stone. While it does have mountains that developed during the failed terraforming process, there are no forests or rivers or any other features on the planet.

Localized Phenomena

There have always been rumors since the planet was populated that it is haunted. The longtime prisoners who want to mess with newcomers will say that the wailing noises that come at night are the ghost of those who died building the domed cities.
In reality, these 'ghosts' are a creature native to the Orionis Cluster. Translucent white creatures that resemble Old Terran manta rays in a fashion, they were officially named Orionis Rays but are nicknamed the Ghost of Orionis (or just Ghosts for short). Capable of surviving in low or no atmosphere, their cries usually aren't heard as they cling to the underside of starships, lurk in the shadow of uninhabited moons, or coast outside of space stations. Lxile is the only location where Orionis Rays gather in large numbers and where their trademark wail is always audible.

Natural Resources

Despite its failed terraforming, Lxile does have natural resources of stone and ores. All five of the domed cities have quarries that are manned by the 'citizens' of Lxile.
