King of the Night
King or Queen of night is the title bestowed upon the ruler of Nyesari and by extension co-ruler of Mallendarb.
Requirements
Only memebers of the Nyesari royal family can aspire to this position. Furthermore, the title is only passed down to heirs that inherited the lycanthropy curse latent on the royal bloodline.
Appointment
The previous king or queen of night bestows the title upon the heir on a ritual called Twilight. In this ritual, the previous title-bearer downs the crown on the new king's head.
Duties
On the day the crown is passed down to them the king swears an oath to the people and for the people of Nyesari. That oath involves respecting the rights of the citizens, making fair and justifiable decisions and always put the interests of the country before their own.
Responsibilities
Not only does the king manage politics within the borders of Nyesari, but he is also meant to discuss dual politics with the other king of Mallendarb. Some laws are enforced in both countries, those laws are meant to be discussed between the king of night and the king of day.
History
The title of King of the Night has been passed down generations of the Nyesari royal family. The title is passed down to the first son or daughter of the royal bloodline that inherits lycanthropy.
