Session XIII: A Legend is Born Report

General Summary

The Royal Syrendille faces the Port Ruffians in a murderbowl match for the destiny of captain Jibril and for a new vessel to get away from the elven land of Syldorei. Though first timers, they perform commendably in the first half of the match, scoring a 2-1 and instilling fear into their rivals.

During the intermission, Evander approaches them. He offers the party a deal, give Jibril to him and in return he will grant them a ship, half the bounty on the pirate's head and safe passage. Genzaburo and Kiber are quick to turn him down. However, for both their surprises, Malaveth asks them to reconsider.

Feeling betrayed, the captain leaves in a rush and an argument ensues. Medan and Malaveth believe the best course of action to be selling out the captain. On the other hand, Genzaburo and Kiber think that leaving the captain is not an option. The argument goes on for a while, but appealing to the warrior's heart, Kiber manages to convince Malaveth.

Kiber leaves to find the captain, who tells her about her past. In the meantime, Malaveth goes to Evander's quarters to strike a deal with the pirate. He offers him the two of his royal guard companions and Jibril in exchange for safe passage and all of Jibril's bounty. Also he asks to be in the balcony with him when his friends leave. After some consideration he accepts and they shake on it.

Now reunited, Malaveth explains his plan to betray the pirate to the party. They are to leave and go to where the boats are docked, get into the vessel prepared for them and leave. They follow the plan and with everyone's perfectly followed role, the plan is succesful. They manage to leave Port Albens with a brand new ship and 1500 gold pieces richer.
