Kasainan Kingdom

The Kasainan Kingdom, occasionally shortened to Kasai, bears the most stable post- Scribing  political systems of any other major maritime power. Founded by Lonato Kasai in 162 C.Y.  , it has retained an unbroken dynastical heritage all the way into the present day. That is not to say that underhanded court drama and assassination has not influenced Kasainan politics in the interim; rather, the importance of the unbroken bloodline has been noted by even the most anarchistic usurpers, and a suitable heir has always been found to sit on the throne.   Kasai holds a deep connection to Evelia, the Brightflame, and is known as the Sun Kingdom because of it. The nobility and clergy are intermixed in deviously complicated ways, and though the Kasainan Kingdom has an incredibly stratified social structure, service in the Knights of Holy File allows for some degree of social mobility for the peasant class. Indeed, soldiers who risk life and limb to defeat monsters (or, occasionally, crush revolt in the border holdings) can expect to come home to lavish parades and grand accolades.   The Kasainan Kingdom is one of the most racially and culturally homogenous societies in the world, and outsiders can expect to be met with suspicion at best, and open derision or persecution at worst.

Values

Citizens of Kasai are taught to revere authority, and a strong collectivist streak soaks through all of the lower social strata. A strong patriarchal structure underpins this, and imagery of the king and state as paternal figures permeates official iconography.

Religion

Strong worship of Evelia, the Brightflame, generally through state-sanctioned organizations.
