A Delivery Interrupted

Expedition

A group of unlikely travelers find themselves thrown together as they journey toward the outpost-town of Faymere, charged with the delivery of a mysterious chest to an elf named Olayth Daetoris.

The group, a tabaxi named Midnight, a kalashtar named Savyn, a dragonborne named Sarafin, and an elf named Yinnelis are waylaid by a band of kobolds when they stop to make camp for the night. Stealing their cart and chest, the group gives chase to the kobolds, discovering their lair within a cave.   Upon entering a secret passageway, the group is attacked by an invisible wraith, only able to be seen when looking through a mirror. Having defeated the apparition, the party finds several strange objects, including an Immovable Rod and a Lantern of Revealing. To continue onward, the group discovers that to walk down a passage way, they must face backwards, else they be transported back to the room they are in.    Deeper into the cavern, the band of kobolds are found and defeated by the party, reclaiming their stolen chest. But a secret room is revealed when fire is put upon a pedestal and inside the party finds what appears to be an ancient crypt. Opening a clockwork sarcophagus activates a mechanical construct that attempts to attack them. After a desperate battle, the group is able to kick the automation into an abyss.   Inside the sarcophagus, they find dragon scale armor as well as an intricate and ancient amulet. Finally, they make their way back to the surface and after spending another night in the forest, arrive with their chest in Faymere where they meet Olayth, the leader of the Crimson Council and are rewarded for delivering his chest.    The group also meets Hila, a female elf who helps them identify several items before the group heads into town for some shopping and to find an inn to stay the night at.
