Alice Towers
Alice is the last scion of a proud lineage dating back more than five hundred years to Airaines, France. She's traced her lineage back that far and found that she's a proud descendant of a Frankish farmer named Charles d'Airaines and his English wife Grace DeWitt. She's suffered many tragedies, and for the last years of her childhood the only constant in her life has been her ageless Aunt Emma.
Alice Towers is Awakened, and walks the Mastigos path. She received little formal training, and has had no mentor in the Ars Magica but has joined the Mysterium Order. Despite this she is an accomplished Warlock and capable of magic both intense and ancient. The reason for her power and secrecy is simple - after her Awakening she received her inheritance from every one of her ancestors going back several centuries. This wealth of knowledge has come with a price - much of it must be kept secret from other Awakened to prevent them from abusing its power.
Alice's Awakening was triggered by a conversation with her college boyfriend John Towers. A spirit of inebriation affected him while on their date and while he was under the influence he revealed some questionable stuff from his past and about his family. That night she stayed at his house, a haunted old house near campus. The whirling questions in her mind was exacerbated by the antics of a ghost that was eager to haunt somebody who wouldn't growl at them and threaten their existence. This all triggered her Awakening and she meandered around John's place talking to inanimate objects and doing strange things. All of this ratcheted up John's tension, and he underwent his First Change. He fled the house staving off the Change until he reached a target-rich environment. Alice chased him and caught up to John mid-transformation and watched as he tore through a cemetery of ghosts and spirits and howled and spoke to the moon.
When it was done, Alice got him a blanket and cuddled him while he slept it off. She decided that he was the one she'd marry, and began thinking. She came across a new mystery within her own mind - a broken barrier that would have prevented her thinking about how her Aunt Emma never aged. So, since it was still night, she called her Aunt Emma to talk about all that happened that night and her plans for the future. Auntie Emma came clean then and there, telling Alice everything she needed to know about the supernatural.
Alice told John everything and the two became inseparable. She moved into the house John was renting and they married after graduation. Over the course of the next twenty years they had eight kids, forming the current generation of the Towers Clan.
