Introduction

This article discusses a typical squad formed by the heroes who once studied and worked at Feather Mountain.

Composition

A typical squad would have four to five splendoro at once.

Equipment

The basic equipment provided to each Feather Squad included first aid kits and simple conduits for the common types of magic.
All Feather Squad members were provided with padded undershirts acting as shock absorbers on sudden impact.
Any specialized equipment had to be ordered on request.

Weaponry

Ranged from rifles to laser pistols, and occasionally knuckle guards or studded shoes for martial artists.

Vehicles

Splendoro who couldn't fly would charter a Feather Flight Jet to get around.
For squads that went incognito, they would use their own cars, motorbikes, bicycles, or walk on foot.

Structure

Usually the group is led by one person, though everyone in the team has a say on what to do.
Squads are carefully chosen so that people who don't violently disagree with each other are on the same team, most of the time.

Tactics

There are differences in how each squad strategizes.
For squads made up of flying splendoro, they find it easier to take to higher ground and attack from there.
Magic-based splendoro will often stand back or behind sturdy splendoro unless they are able to create defenses themselves.
Gunslinging and melee-based squads will charge into striking distance, though in order to land a hit on magical enemies they require either the services of another magician or make use of guerrilla warfare.

Training

All members had to first spend at least two years honing their magic power. Then, they would be classified according to their type of magic.

History

The first squads were formed in 2000 shortly after the establishment of Feather Mountain. From 2000 to 2010, the squads enjoyed respect from the common folk as they were essentially auxiliary security groups.
Their purpose at the time was to be role models as well as a trump card against the occasional superpowered criminal.
In 2010, the increasing number of splendoro who didn't want to join Feather Mountain or turned to villainy led to the squads losing respect, up to the point the administration decided to close registrations permanently.
