Sellers
Many different items can be listed on the Black Market for sale including weapons, armor, consumables, crafting materials, access cards, blueprints, and more. To be eligible to sell, items may not be Secured or Bound, however many powerful or rare items found in the game become Bound when they are acquired. Quest items are automatically Bound as well. Players should always take note of an item's status.
Sellers may list most Unsecured items in the game once they have obtained access to the Black Market through game progression. At first, only one item may be listed at a time. Through successful trades, players can unlock up to five simultaneous selling slots. One additional selling slot is made available for every 1,000 Carbon Shards or 25,000 Astrals accrued through marketplace sales.
Any Carbon Shards acquired through marketplace sales will incur a transaction fee of 5% which is deducted from the total sale price in Carbon Shards earned when the item sells. Additionally, a conversion fee of $0.0025 per Shard traded will be charged to the credit card on file.
Sellers are made aware of the total costs and fees involved when listing items for sale and will be asked to confirm before the item is listed.

Listing Fees
Putting an item up for sale will incur a Listing Fee paid with Astrals. Items may be removed from the marketplace at any time, however the Listing Fee is non-refundable. Listings stay on the market for a minimum of one day and up to three days at a time. The fees associated with listing times vary. The Listing Fee to the seller for a one day posting is equal to 5% of the item's total listed price. Every additional day the item is listed adds an additional 2%. If the item does not sell or the seller wishes to remove it from the marketplace, it will be returned to the seller's Transmission Center inbox but the Listing Fee will not be refunded. If the seller chooses to relist the item, they will need to pay the Listing Fee again.Selling For Carbon Shards
All sellers can list items for sale for Astrals, however they may opt to sell items for Carbon Shards instead which can be used directly in The Emporium to purchase premium items. If a seller wants to list an item for Carbon Shards, they will need to link a valid credit card to their account. The Listing Fee for this is 5% of the selling value paid in Astrals at a rate of 100:1. The same base rate of 5% plus 2% per additional day applies.Any Carbon Shards acquired through marketplace sales will incur a transaction fee of 5% which is deducted from the total sale price in Carbon Shards earned when the item sells. Sellers are made aware of the total costs and fees involved when listing items for sale and will be asked to confirm before the item is listed.
An example sale for an item through the Black Market might look like this:
- A seller wants to list an item for 500 Carbon Shards for two days. They must first pay the Listing Fee.
- The Listing Fee for two days is 7% of the sale price. 6% of 500 is 35. At 100 Astrals per Shard, the seller must pay 3,500 Astrals to list the item.
- Once the item is listed and subsequently purchased, a transaction fee of 5% is deducted from the sale price. 5% of 500 is 25, so the seller would earn 475 Carbon Shards.
- To transfer the Carbon Shards to the seller’s account, a conversion fee of $0.0025 per Shard traded is charged to the Seller’s credit card on file. Since the sale price is 500 Carbon Shards, the seller would be charged $1.25.
- The seller would then receive a payment of 475 Carbon Shards sent to their Transmission Center inbox.
