Great Ant Invasion

The Great Ant Invasion began by accident when Levira tried to use a Gravestone to open a portal to the Void. While the walls between worlds is thin on Nexus, particularly in Lothal, she did not consider that the geographic location plays a part in where a portal can open to. Rather than her home realm, she inadvertently opened a gateway into a darker part of the Feywild. Realizing her plan failed to work as intended, Levira fled when something monsterous (though not the monsters she'd wanted), began coming through the gateway.
Goat-sized ants began to come through the portal, transformed and empowered into horse-sized ants as they did thanks to the energy of the Gravestone powering it. The ant scouts discovered that the Kingdom of Lothal of Lothal was rich in food and reported back to their queen, who ordered her children to pour through the portal and secure this new land for their empire. Locals hunting game soon began to notice the scarcity of wildlife and eventually a hunter managed to survive an encounter with the ants and report their existence. Word was sent to the Adventurer's Guild and they quickly started sending teams into the area to battle the invading ants.
When it was discovered some of the ants could fly, the adventurers called on the Wyvern Knights for assistance. While the air force kept the skies clear, the adventurers battled on the ground but were hard pressed to track the ants through their tunnels. More adventurers were called in to help with the situation, including the Headhunters. They eventually discovered the portal Levira had created and dove through into the Feywild, managing to close the portal and get back to Lothal moments before the ant queen lead her elite guard through the gateway.
The adventurers cleaned up the remaining ants, though the local ecosystem was devastated by their brief time on Nexus. This event made certain major powers concerned by the Morlocks actions and their effect on Nexus, particularly several of the Animal Lords.
