Altiane Bakayo

Altiane Bakayo

Altiane Bakayo was born and raised in Forgecard Falls. Though her parents were members of the Yub religion, they refused to arrange a marriage for her, believing that the marriage practices of their faith were out of date. At the age of 18, Altiane moved out of her parents' house and took a job with the Antaran Historical Society. Angered by the way the Florarovan officials treated her country's history, often keeping important historical artifacts to themselves, rather than allowing them to stay in local museums, Altiane gathered a band of thieves to steal back such items and return them to said museums in the names of their "owners."

A couple of years after taking charge of this heist group, Altiane was pick-pocketed by Leo Tyeen. Catching him and realizing that he and his sister were homeless and alone, she offered him her address. After several visits of coaxing the children with food and a chance to join her crew, she eventually adopted the kids and cared for them as a mother.

Altiane eventually planned a heist on the Princess of Antarand herself, Audeni Deneen. Though it was rare for her group to attack Antaran natives, the princess had recently received jewelry from a Florarovan official. The plan had been to steal this and to forge a note from Deneen, donating it to a children's charity. After her daughter, Ayan, was caught, Altiane tried to plan attacks which would keep her children safer, but neither Leo nor Ayan would have it. When Ayan was caught trying to steal Deneen's jewels a second time, Deneen had her sent to Faraday Academy of Magic, so that she might use her magical skills for good. Though Leo took this as a personal affront, Altiane understood this to be a chance for Ayan that she could not personally offer. With Ayan in school, Altiane continues her thief life and tries to mediate conflicts between her two adopted children.
