Personal history
Ellis Van-Bahn Pietro Vanille, better known by his friends and family as Ellie, was born to wealth and fortune with the Vanille family, a family of lesser nobles within the political structure of the city of Northgate.
Gender Identity
Ellie is an avid cross dresser. He enjoys wearing women's clothes and makeup and love to, in his own words, "Feel pretty." However, contrary to what others have assumed and pressure him into, he has always identified with the gender he was assigned at birth. He has nothing but respect for those who feel unwelcome in their own skin, but all in all he's never really felt that way about himself.
Sexuality
While many assume that Ellie is Homosexual or, potentially, Asexual, the truth of the matter is that Ellie is very much Heterosexual. He, however, isn't overly comfortable with flirting and dating, and as such has never really had much experience sexually. He did, however, lose his virginity to an old girlfriend in his teen years, but she broke his heart and he's struggled ever since to get that close to another woman since.

Ellie was sent to the best schools that money could by, and he did fairly well. Unfortunately, he flunked many classes as he was, in his own words, "Not interested" in school. He did, however, excel at Home Ec where he learned how to cook.

Mental Trauma
On the 11th of Protohaim, 1612 ND, Ellie was kidnapped in the early hours of the morning by Vakra, the Hexblade warlock the he and his party had fought before. She stripped Ellie and tortured him for nine hours before his friends finally found and rescued him. While he seems to be fine for the most part, Ellie now suffers from frequent nightmares about the whole ordeal. He's afraid of sleeping alone but doesn't trust his friends enough just yet to ask for a roommate. Additionally, he feels shame for the scars that now cover parts of his body and has started wearing heavier clothes to hide them and maintain his image of "feeling pretty."

Motivation
Ellie wishes to travel and explore the kingdom, so as to expand his perception of the world. He wants to learn as many recipes as he can and potentially open a cafe someday. This desire came to him in a moment of personal epiphany, as he reflected on his sister's desire to "find herself" by joining a monastery of monks in the Pruinia Mountains. He realized that he wasn't sure what he was doing in his life, and decided to travel to also "find himself" and decide for himself what it is that he really wants in life.

Goro trained alongside Ellie when they were both learning fencing. Goro didn't like that Ellie learned the art of fencing purely for recreational purposes, because Goro always intended on joining the city watch and protect and serve; he sees Ellie as a spoiled brat.
