Lyndis Glynfil was born to the noble Zylnan family in Catharae in 1321 ND within the Empire of Geluregnum. From an early age she proved to be quite studious and adept at the arcane arts, and was quickly inducted into the local Carian Academy therein. By the age of 22, she was a prominent understudy to the Gelualbus Assembly and proved her worth time and time again, but she repeatedly turned down multiple offers for higher positions over the decades as she worked research project after research project. It wasn't until she met her wife, Elencia Glynfil, that she began to consider further progress in her career.
