The Muharib
Formed from an ancient Mernite Order of Warriors, the Muharib have become the hidden hand of The Holy Mernite Sovereignty's Monarch and government at large.
One of the three legs of the Mernite Government under the Monarch, The Muharib represent the old Mernite way and are made up almost entirely of people whose family line goes back to old Mernite families before the Crusade. Though there are exceptions.
The Muharib are famed and feared for being viscous and talented combatants and experts in subterfuge. They serve as the spies and agents of the Sovereignty, and many a lord and general fear the blade of the Muharib in the night.
Structure
The Muharib purposefully keep their organizational structural vague and obtuse. It is known that the leader is called the Majistir Fi Alhaqiqa (Master in Truth), or more simply the Majistir. The Majistir declares the Muharib's stance on the various pieces of politics in the Sovereignty, as well as taking the orders from the Monarch. But beyond the figure head, no one really knows if there's a governing body, how training is handled, or even really how to join the Muharib. All of that is hidden, and closely guarded, information.
Culture
The Muharib, when they are seen in public, are known to be almost always silent, only speaking when absolutely needing to. When they need to speak to each other, they seem to mostly do so silently and with complicated hand gestures.
History
The Muharib get their name from an ancient warrior order of the same name that served the original Sovereignty from its founding to its conquest by The Realm. But much like the Muharib of today, they hid their history and methods well. It is theorized that the current Muharib have records and details about the ancient order, but that is speculation.
