The Order of the Wind and Wood
Originally founded by Sorra Norixious and Baralas Oakenhollow in the late Second Age, the Order of the Wind and Wood is closer to a natural oath than a strict military or religious order. Its followers call themselves "Children of the Wind and Wood" and seem to follow Druidic and Shamanistic principles more than a hierarchical structure. They are known for being more martial than the average shaman or druid, being trained in either the ways of the Paladin, or the ways of Elemental Enhancement as their founder Sorra was.
Originally founded, according to Sorra and Baralas, as something to fend against the oncoming Return, its purpose has evolved.
The Order as it exists today is mostly known for two "camps" of followers. Those that hold to the old ways and wander the earth, healing and supporting those they find and defending them and the natural world. On the other side though, are the more radical members who have become anti-civilization and industrialization, seeing both as an aberration against the natural order. These radicals mostly come in the shape of anti-society luddities who just avoid civilization, but some have been known to become terrorists.
