"Sullia was the grandest of us, and ruled with the lightest touch. But Sullia is dead, and I am Emperor." -Abberon the Mage

With The Great War over there was much to heal. Both Torva and Mortals soon took to healing their land and trying to rebuild the Empire that had suffered so greatly in the war. Shamans and Druids healed the world and its spirits, while mages saw to the dispelling of remaining arcane rifts. Builders and engineers rebuilt cities while warriors cleaned up any remaining undead pockets.   While the world healed, Abberon looked on the Torva'Ir and saw that many of the Immortal Cities and small subject kingdoms were enjoying unparalleled freedom and independence, this would not stand to Abberon. Making his husband Hubri’Ak, Or “Highest of Marshals” (or simply “High Marshal”) he began a wave of reconquest across Kalin.   His reconquest brought Kalin back to heel, with the exception of the far north, where the men there had grown strong and vicious due to the dark magics of the undead and demons. After an extended campaign Abberon decided to withdraw, deciding the frigid north not worth the trouble.   Following his campaign Abberon soon took to making drastic internal changes to the Torva'Ir. He disbanded the Girel, the Council of Youngers. While this was shocking it was merely a prelude to him using the might of the Elven Armies and Dragons to create a slave system across the empire in the name of "helping rebuild."   The White Dragons, the noblest and most intelligent of all Dragons, wept at Abberon’s cruelty (or so the legend says). Deciding to take action the White Dragons petitioned their fellow dragons to turn against their Elven allies and restore sanity to the Torva’Ir throne.   Many Dragons joined the White Dragons, though some did stay with their new Elven allies. War soon erupted in the mountains and fields as the White Dragons led their desperate rebellion against Abberon. Even with a mixture of other dragons and mortals at their side the White Dragons were outnumbered, and ultimately fell before the onslaught of Abberon and his allies. Their final stand was in the blasted lands now known as Dracon, or Draconfall.   After the Dragons and their allies were forced to surrender the White Dragons, who had mostly been killed in the war, were marked for permanent annihilation by Abberon to instill fear and respect into the other dragon races. A large bounty was placed on the heads of White Dragons that stood until the Fall of the Torva, and drove the White Dragons to complete extinction, although one would survive and reappear in the Second Age.   Additionally Abberon forced the Dragonborn, the mortal servants of the Dragons since time immemorial, to be split from their creators. It is speculated that Abberon had plans to do more than merely separate the Dragonborn from their masters, but his assassination cut any such plans short.
