"Nay, can't say I would've ever thought this could happen growing up in the Greatneck. But here we are, and I won't complain. In fact, free drinks for all cosigners on the Jarak-Aurelia Treaty!" -Bhelmir Strongheart

With the declaration of the Dwaav-Torva'Dro Abbanshi the Dwarven Confederacy essentially stopped existing overnight. Jarak was one of the few Dwarven realms to not join the Abbanshi, opting to make its own way.   However, Jarak soon realized that being a single realm amongst many growing powers was not an ideal situation to be in. As a result, after over 3 centuries of hearty cooperation and trade, Jarak began to negotiate joining Aurelia.   Negotiations took nearly 5 years, with an aged Bhelmir Strongheart playing a significant role in the talks due to his fame in both Aurelia and Jarak. After 5 years though, Aurelia and Jarak representatives signed the Jarak-Aurelia Treaty, making Jarak a part of Aurelia in exchange for certain rights around industry and Dwarven military service.   As other Dwarven realms emptied and became abandoned to the ever present infestation of underdark creatures following the Return, Jarak would prove to be one of the last standing Dwarven realm that was not a part of the Abbanshi.
