"Our brothers and sisters are mislead, and must be corrected. The liars who plot to bring down our great nation shall be punished for their hubris, and we shall make our home whole once again." -Octavia Ghiacciato IV

After Octavia Ghiacciato and her faction seized power over the Senatus, almost immediately a third of the remaining Senatus in both parts split in open disgust and anger. The third of the Senate not openly with Octavia at first fell in line out of fear of splitting the Empire.   Within days of her declarative speech to the Senatus, many of the opposing senators had fled and joined up with what Legionary commanders and governors they could find. Almost all of Idiomaris and Forelenium rose up in open Rebellion, while Pouton became contested.   Over the next two years Octavia would lead the nation through one of its greatest crises, and bring an end to the various rebellions. The war was notable both for its ferocity and bloodshed, but also for its deployment of new technologies. It was the first war fought with a heavy reliance on firearms over the traditional sword and spear, with modernization programs several decades before bearing brutal fruit during the war.   After successfully reconquering her own nation and executing most of the rebellious senators (sparing those who surrendered), Octavia Ghiacciato IV stood unopposed as the primary leader of the newly reborn Empire.
