Year of the Dragon

Military action

"Nay not a soul spoke     Nor anyone could lack hope     When upon that frozen day     The Knights of Starmont Stood     Before the Dragon Tall."   -Song of the Wayfarers (1st Ed)

Perhaps the largest and most impactful event in the 8th century, the Year of the Dragon was a widespread political game played by the last White Dragon, Aenophentari, who sought to unite the entire continent under his vision by the use of political puppets to fight the coming Return.   He was primarily opposed by the now legendary Wayfarers and their allies. The series of events included in the Year of the Dragon is too large to list easily, but highlights include the climax of The Virnosian Rebellion, The Tharrisian War, The Dragonborn Civil War, and more.   The aftermath saw a large restructuring of political power and influence across Kalin, as well as the overthrow of several nations and the creation of a new one. The Year of the Dragon would determine the political landscape for the remainder of the 2nd Age until the Return.
