The Colored Rooms
Said to be created by thee light of the god Magnus, woven into Oblivion by the fallen goddess Meridia, this realm is an oppressive land of blinding lights, vibrant colors. Its islands float among a gleaming nebula, adorned with prysmatic choral and crystal. Space within is unchartable, with unweary travelors finding themselves shifting inescapably into another layer of its labyrinth as easily as steppinng over an unseen threshold. Wheras other planes of Oblivion stretch infinitely into the void, the Colored Rooms are bound by only a few hundred square miles, extending infinitely within itself.
Aurorans
Born from the plasmic skies of the Colored Rooms are a daedric race of living light bound in golden armor. These Auroroans are the powerful enforcers of Meridian Law. These pious knights are unshakable in their faith and their adherence to their morality. Although their oath is one of charity, chivalry, and protection of the weak, they give no quarter to infidels, apostates, or blasphemers, which in practice eventually includes everyone who has not been cleansed by Meridia's light. Though they take great pleasure in cleansing the sin from the hearts of the unworthy, they also resent the mortal converts to the Holy Fire, for their fervence is artificial, imposed upon their souls, whereas their love for their Mistress is genuine and eternal. Because of this bitterness, they confine the Lustrant mortals to the lower infinities of the Rooms, treating them with contempt when they cross paths.Meridian Guard
The highest order of Aurorans who are entrusted direclty with the protection of Meridia's infinite palace and most important treasures. Unlike their bretherin, whose true nature is hidden behind full armor, the Meridian Guard wear only light arms. Their unbound bodies are free in combat to spread out, change shape, and carry their implements as fast as they can physically move without disintigrating, making them almost unstoppable for mortal foes.Land of the Lustrants
The second most imposing presence within the Colored Rooms are the Purified. Mortals, including animals, who have had their souls cleansed of all impurity by Meridia's light. Whether their souls were given joyfully or taken by force as punishment for blasphemy, Lustrated beings have had their free will replaced by a burning, all-consuming love of Meridia's grace. Their zealotry exceeds even that of the Aurorans. Lustrants maintain a vast city among the lower infinities of the realm. They decorate their spartan holdings in stained glass and gold, eschewing comfort or pleasure in favor of another shrine, another mural, another tapestry in honor of the Lady of Light. Though mortal, their bodies no longer decay, grow tired, or die of any natural cause, giving them ample time for their devotions. When a Lustrant is finally killed, their souls are cleansed again in Meridia's golden light until all that is left is a living Ember, which is released to wonder the Rooms for eternity. Though some lucky few, whose faith stands out even among theiir peers, are reborn in death as Meridian Guards, earning their kind further animosity by the "true" Aurorans.
