Archbishop Mikaeus Orzhov IX takes decisive action when presented with the perfect circumstances.

Beginning shorty after the Heroes of Rivercairn vanished into the fog that had spread from the Forest of Whispers the Archbishop had church officials start spreading rumors that in the wake the king of Seiros' death, dark forces were controlling Seiros and enlisted mages of Grymoire to create the fog as an attack on Asteros. This served to rile up the populace against their nation's neighbors.   When it became clear there was no imminent threat from Niflheim, due to their internal conflicts, the Archbishop began making plans with his military commanders about possible attack strategies, wishing to capitalize on Seiros' king being gone and there no longer being a unifying threat from across the sea. When the dwarven clans of Moria declared war on each other, and thus closing their borders again, the Archbishop saw this as a divine providence - a sign from Torm. Without being able to utilize the mountain tunnels of Moria, Seiros and Grymoire would find it much more difficult to support each other.   Archbishop Mikaeus Orzhov IX wasted no time - he quickly finalized his plans with the commanders and declared war on both Seiros and Grymoire - announcing to the public that their neighbors had been manipulated by dark forces, they had lost their way, and it was Asteros' duty to bring them back to side of good.
