The Durangle Merchants
There are corners of the Warrior's Necropolis where the brave soldiers of the imperial regiment fear to tread. At first, they tried to walk every stone path and peek their heads around every corner at least once a week but they soon grew weary of dealing with the ghosts and vengeful spirits. The soldiers complained to their captain and he, being an understanding sort, agreed to redraw the routes. Now the soldiers' march right past the spookiest parts of the graveyard and the spirits are left in peace.
An entrepreneurial pair have taken advantage of this and set up camp in the western corner. When Isaac, a historian from the university in Nesher, and Henry, an inventor, heard from an old friend of theirs that the Grand Unified Temple had managed to reopen the Zento they knew they had to venture out onto the sands to see for themselves. Their friend, a captain in the Sentinel Regiment arranged for them to sneak into the Zento and gave them a private tour. It was Isaac that spotted the durangle root growing in the shallows and hooked some out to take back with them. Dried durangle is a common enough spice in the south but this one had been grown in the magical waters of the Zento. Later over a pint at the Pilgrim's Cup, the trio decided to go into business together. The captain would arrange for the pair to slip in and out without being seen by the priests and Isaac and Henry would take care of the harvesting and preparation of the root.
Durangle Root
Durangle root is a versatile spice that can be added to food or prepared as tea but first, it must be prepared. Normally this involves cleaning and drying but before they could use what they harvested from the Zento it needed to be drained of any excess magic. If a mortal being consumes too much magic they become a lightning rod attracting more magic until they are destroyed. But in small quantities magic can heal and rejuvenate the body. Using a flooded crypt and a system of mirrors that Henry set up the pair are close to having their first batch ready to sell.
