The Warrior's Necropolis
The King's Temple is the Soldiers Necropolis. A vast graveyard surrounded by a crumbling wall. Parts have been swallowed by the sands but the main avenues are clear, swept clean by the winds that blow in from the south. Vengeful spirits prowl, attacking any mortal that dares to leave the path but the imperial soldiers do their best to patrol the necropolis to deter graverobbers.
Statues of armoured men and women line the paths, brandishing weapons and shields giving the necropolis its name. The heads have all been removed and any image carved upon the stones scratched out. An act of vandalism carried out by an enemy of Min Falon, the kingdom that once ruled the region.
In the eastern half is Hong'la's Garden, created when the Liandran priestess, Mother Hong'la, fell into the The Glowing Sea and fled into the necropolis rather than hurt those around her. As her mortal body attempted to channel the magical ether before it could swallow her soul Mother Hong'la turned to her goddess for help and was awarded a vision of the sacred grove where the door to Liandra's Hall is located. Hong'la found peace in the image and used it to create a garden among the gravestones. Trees sprouted from the rocky ground and vines sprung from the cracks in the tombs. It is now a place of flowers and dense leaves. Mother Hong'la was never seen again but is believed to be in the garden.
Soldiers from the imperial regiment stationed in the fort nearby attempt to keep graverobbers and looters away from the necropolis but there are corners where even they fear to tread. Vengeful spirits lay claim to tombs and attack any that attempted to go near them. The imperial commander assumes that if they can't get near them then no one else can either but two men found a way. The Durangle Merchants, Isaac and his partner Henry, are a resourceful pair and together they have come up with a way to not just trick the ghosts into leaving them alone but to also get inside the Zento. They are willing to risk their lives for the treasure that grows in The Glowing Sea.
