Kodakat

Kodakat ("Koda's Cape") is a geographic feature of Nuavaao, lying approximately five hundred kilometers to the south-west of Tyldaa. The intersection of the Distal and Central Ocean Gyres to the north-west of Paisloakeapau make for an extremely turbulent ocean, and its equatorial location enables strong thunderstorms to build over the greater Lake Seloittii area, which tend to travel south-westerly directly over the Cape. Further, tropical storms and hurricanes in the Distal Ocean tend to travel south-west along Rakeapauvisuana, and Kodakat is both the last stretch of land before these storms travel into the southern Central Ocean at the end of their lifecycle, as well as the hardest-hit out of any coastal location in their path.
This treacherous stretch of ocean divides eastern Rakeapauvisuana from the rest of the continent, much as the Qaaqaaporag divide it on land. The overland journey from Tyldaa to Rikevoj takes much longer, and approximately two-thirds of the road lies in Nuavaaoaa rainforest; since the Second Cataclysm, these geographic features combined have permanently cut Tyldaa off from Rikevoj and the rest of the western settlements.
