Gwyndilon Institute

The Gwyndilon Institute is an arcane research and educational organization which operates in the Indarran Empire. They control all of the official education of wizards in the empire as well as most of the arcane knowledge and information. Each of the five kingdoms' capitols has a university for training wizards, and many other cities also have smaller institutions such as libraries and so on. The headquarters is in Candlekeep, the largest library in the known world.

History

The Institute was founded over a thousand years ago by Gwyndilon, one of the eight archmages in Cognitio's Circle. He saw an untapped potential in the people of the empire, and wished to see the progress that could be made with more widely available arcane training and knowledge for those who wished to learn it.
