Luster, Tungsten and Dawn are born to Queen Glaze. Luster the light dragon princess becomes queen in 4201 after having to kill her mom, she gets traumatised. She has trouble controlling her subjects and soon many want her assassinated along with traitorous group leader, Cyrus.

Growing up in the light palace, Luster thought that she would become an architect and herpentologist when she became an adult, as she loved snakes, collecting many species and designing buildings in her room. She also hoped that Dawn would be queen instead of her as she could never think of her being able to kill Glaze. Unfortunately Dawn stood her ground and refused to be queen, resulting in Luster having to forcefully kill her mother for the throne. Luster proved to be an incompetent and unreliable queen resulting in her subjects rebelling against her to which she became terrified for her safety outside the palace. She also poorly managed the economy and imports causing problems. Cyrus secretly lead plans to have Luster killed and conspired with her traitors forming the Sun and Sand battalion. However since he was a high ranking member of the palace, he obviously didn’t show hatred for Luster. In fact he began to like Dawn. After being queen for years, Luster finds it harder and harder to control her kingdom. She is haunted by rumours that she will be assassinated and confides in her sister Dawn. Dawn, now also concerned for Luster, tells her to try escaping and that Queen Pitch frequently takes in rogues for refuge. Dawn would convince the light kingdom Luster just fell into quicksand. Luster agrees and plans to escape.
