Darthorion
Elves originated in the kingdom of Darthorion, under the first King of the Elves, Fraguderne the High, long before any kingdom of man reached Nyverden. They prospered in the unoccupied lands and freely traded with and benefited from the Dwarven nation of Fellhem. During the Great Dispersal, when Corellan ordered Fraguderne to send colonies of the elves to the far reaches of Nyverden, a group of elves came to believe the dwarves should be subjugated and made a servile race for the elves. This belief was fed by a goddess of the Faeirie Pantheon named Laurana who desired a greater place for herself within the pantheon and a greater number of followers. She betrayed her husband Corellon and attempted to overthrow him, sending her followers to grab power in Darthorian and enslave the dwarves of Fellhem. This rebellion was put down, both in Nyverden and in the astral plane, with Laurana being cursed and sent to the Abyss, becoming the goddess Lloth, who would eventually join forces with the Darkhold. This event, known as Laurana’s Rebellion , or just “the Rebellion '' by the elves, is known to the Dwarves as the Elven Treachery. The fighting that took place during the rebellion spread to some of the fleets engaged in the Great Dispersal. Some of the dwarves heading to the North Sea demanded to be out ashore and founded the isolationist kingdom of Rikhem. Those that stayed on continued to northwestern Apenrike and founded the kingdom of Skuffhimmel after fulfilling their obligations to the elves in Sylarbor. The elves and dwarves sailing for Ankomst treated each other with great suspicion and immediately went separate ways upon landing, refusing to have anything to do with each other. They in turn found the kingdoms of Vestlegion and Melheim. The two fleets sailing east into the Forbud Sea and the Kolossal Sea were never heard from again. It is believed that the treachery extended to those fleets and destroyed both. The kingdom of Darthorian closed its borders to all outside after the Rebellion, not trusting other races or their own ability to deal with them. Unhappy with this extreme isolationist view of the world, elves led by the great warrior Lysehar Langskrid crossed mountains and founded the Kingdom of Lysejord, but would come to be known as Mariarion by men. This new elven kingdom maintained a strong relationship with the dwarves of Fellhem. But that did not sit well with all the dwarves. Distrustful of their oldest allies, and still feeling the sharp sting of betrayal, many dwarves swore to never again have dealings with an elven nation and crossed the Breiterwald Valley founding the kingdom of the Langthem in the far mountains of central Apenrike. After the rebellion was put down, elves that followed Lloth escaped to the north with some dwarvish and gnomish slaves and lived underground, carving out a kingdom beneath the Drowlands.
