The Hobgoblin Who Got His Dog’s Throat Cut And His Balls Almost Torn Off
Incident at Bridlip Concerning Dog
One of the invaders in the Siege of Bridlip, The Hobgoblin Who Got His Dog’s Throat Cut And His Balls Almost Torn Off was involved in an ill-fated laying a trap for The Ladies' Hiking Club. In the fighting, Beulah Garland accidentally shot Vega Spritzer, rendering her unconscious. And Clytemnestra "Fanny" Glitters cut the throat of the dog of The Hobgoblin Who Got His Dog’s Throat Cut (as he then was). The Hobgoblin Who Got His Dog’s Throat Cut had the good sense to retreat at this stage, looping around the adventurers and making his way out of The "Lighthouse". As he moved to exit, however, he came across the temple priest, who had been saved from the brink of death and interrogated by the adventurers but left prone and alone on the ground near the entrance. In a fit of rage over the loss of his hound, The Hobgoblin Who Got His Dog’s Throat Cut killed the priest, eliminating any further information the group might have obtained about what The Lighthouse was doing under a Corran temple. (It wasn’t much or even all that interesting, if I’m honest.)Incident at Lakeshore Concerning Balls
Several weeks later, The Hobgoblin Who Got His Dog’s Throat Cut set a highwayman’s ambush just outside of the Halfling town of Lakeshore. To his momentary delight, he recognized the maniac in a wig, declaring that she owed him a hound. The ambush, carefully planned with a squad of Orcs and goblins in addition to a quartet of hobgoblins, snapped shut and surprisingly competent combat ensued—though a timely fireball from someone that probably wasn’t Cherry Merrybottom made reasonably quick work of the Orcs and thus the thrust of the offensive. The Hobgoblin Who Got His Dog’s Throat Cut survived the encounter but was interrogated by Clytemnestra, earning in short order the sobriquet The Hobgoblin Who Got His Dog’s Throat Cut And His Balls Almost Torn Off. He had little to reveal other than the fact that he was in the employ of General Kuzoh, that they were most often at war with other goblinoid tribes rather than the humanoid races, and that he was certain General Kuzoh had been hired by Decima Overmere. For the first time, the Club became aware that they were dealing with the Corran Imperial Family. Cherry killed him after the interrogation was over. She had a nightmare about it, but she’s over it. Hobbit justice!Post-Mortem Confrontation
Somehow, this hobgoblin -- from whom the Ladies steadfastly refuse to demand a name -- found his way into the Hall of Events Non-Canonical as a shade of his former self, along with his wolf, whose name we do know: Delilah. (She's actually a good girl.) Seeking to earn back his honour by defeating these four aged women in personal combat, the Hobgoblin somehow managed to take on the form and attributes of a Fire Giant and nearly killed Fanny with a boulder before being resoundingly defeated by a group possessed of effective action control tactics. Upon his defeat, he indicated his grudging respect towards Cherry, his murderer, and came on to Fanny something fierce. He seems to be into the ball-crushing in a pretty serious way. Having no further truck with his previous outfit -- honour in battle apparently being meaningful in the afterlife but loyalty being cheap -- he happily volunteered information about Kuzoh and Decima's deal leading up to the events at The "Lighthouse", comprising the best intelligence the team has received about their actual arrangement and future plans to date. When it was time for him to go, he rejoined Delilah and entreated Fanny to stay on her current path, as he wanted her to die young and beautiful.
