South Barrier

The South Barrier is a mountain range on the northwestern edge of The Rift, dividing the desert from the humid areas on the coast. It is a small and somewhat low range, often considered simply an extension of the larger and taller North Barrier on the other side of The Cut. The climate is humid on the coastal side and more arid on the other, with forest covering much of the coastal side along The Windwood. It is populated mostly by migratory tribes of humans, orcs, and gnolls.
