Boslandië

Geography

The majority of Boslandië is covered by a dense forest that stretches as far as the eye can see. To the North and around the East, cold seas leave broken but comfortable shores. Along the West, well-kept farmlands provide food and livestock for the kingdom and beyond. Towards the South, the forest gives way to plains and prairies.   Numerous rivers carve their way through the landscape, like the proliferating roots of a colossal tree. Towns and cities cling to the life-giving freshwater sources, serving as both resource and transportation routes for the Boslandic folk.

Ecosystem

The majority of Boslandië is a lush and vibrant ecosystem. Primeval trees provide protection and habitat to the many creatures that dwell within the woods, including the ancient races of the Elves. A paradise for hunters, gatherers, and those in tune with nature, the Boslandic forests are a self-sustaining but dangerous place.

Ecosystem Cycles

A mix of deciduous and coniferous trees paint the landscape in rich green during the summer months, a gold and red tapestry in the autumn, a patchwork of bare branches and snow-bound boughs during the winter months, and a brilliant display of flowers and blossoms in the spring.

Climate

A temperate climate influenced by multiple long coasts provides Boslandië with moderate rainfall, cool temperatures, and four distinct seasons.   In the summer months, average temperatures range from 18°C to 24°C. The summer months are somewhat humid, particularly near the coasts.   In the winter months, temperatures drop significantly, ranging from -20°C to 10°C. Snow is common during the winter months, especially in the higher elevations.   The spring and fall months tend to be mild, with temperatures ranging from 10°C to 20°C and moderate amounts of rainfall. The shoulder seasons bring tourists from other kingdoms as the changing foliage and blooming flowers provide a riot of colour and beauty.
