18th Legion

Legio XVIII Lupae was a legion of the Imperial Roman Army. Their cognomen, Lupae, means 'she-wolves', after the capitoline wolf, one of the primary symbols of Roman identity.

The legion is considered one of the three 'lost legions', as it was entirely wiped out at the Battle of Teutoburg, along with the 17th and 19th Legions.

The only survivor was Oentrus, who formed an alliance with one of the victorious Germanic Tribes, the Chatti, turning many of their warriors in Werewolves in exchange for training in how to control his shift.
