Oentrus

Oentrus was one of the decendants of Lykaon, and the first Werewolf to fully control his shift.

While serving in Legio XVIII Lupae (the 18th Legion of the Imperial Roman Army, nicknamed the 'she-wolves' after the capitoline wolf), Oentrus took part in the Battle of Teutoburg, one of the worst defeats in Roman military history. The fear and stress of the battle caused a full shift, which allowed him to survive.

After the battle, he was found by members of the victorious Chatti tribe, who had witnessed his transformation. They took him to their holy men, who offered to teach him how to control the shift in exchange for him sharing his gift with members of the tribe, so they could protect the Teutoburg Nemeton from any future Roman incursions over the Rhine.

Oentrus agreed, and spent the rest of his life in the forest as the first Guardian. In time, his decendants were appointed Guardians of other Nemetons around the Western world.

The Teutoburg pack, direct decendants of Oentrus and the warriors he turned, remain one of the most powerful and influential packs in the world.
